Forearm Crutch
Item:
Forearm Crutch

Episodes: 1
  • adjustable height forearm crutch for long or short term use
  • grey plastic armband and molded handle
  • shaft is most likely aluminum
  • usually comes in pairs
  • gaining popularity over the old underarm crutch as it is lighter and more efficient to use
First Appearance:
House's Head
[S04-E15]
House has lost his flame cane and sustained head injury in a bus crash. While having his head wound stitched by Cameron, he reaches lazily for a crutch, which Wilson obediently gets for him.
Last Appearance:
House's Head
[S04-E15]
House has an unpopular theory about the POTW, so he locks himself and Thirteen into a room with the patient using the crutch to jam the sliding door closed. On Cuddy's orders, Foreman and Kutner force the door open, breaking the crutch in the process.
Continuity When House first acquires the crutch, the adjustable-height armband is at its lowest setting. In later scenes, however, it is at the highest setting. This might not qualify as an error - it is perfectly reasonable to assume that House could have adjusted it at some point between scenes to make it more comfortable. If that is indeed the case, it's a nice little detail.
